The trustees were appointed by the original trust deed and retire in successive years. New trustees are appointed for a period of four years. New trustees are appointed by the existing trustees. Timothy Blakey has been reappointed for a new term of four years.
The trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the commission in exercising their powers or duties.
Objects
The object of the Trust is to relieve poverty and sickness and to advance the Christian religion by the education of children and young people, in particular but not exclusively through the provision of grants and facilities to Lifegivers Children’s Home in Andhra Pradesh, India.
However, no grants will be made to other bodies unless, in the trustees’ opinion, the Lifegivers Childrens Home already has sufficient for its current needs.
Activities and achievements
The CIO currently receives donations and passes them on to the Lifegivers Children’s Home in their entirety, apart from minimal necessary expenses. Gift Aid is also recovered. The money passed on enables the Home to buy food, clothing and educational materials for the boys in their care.
The Covid lockdowns prevented any other fundraising and since their end, no new fundraising has yet been attempted.
Financial Review
All income received in the period was passed on,.
The CIO has no need of any reserves and maintains only a minimal permanent balance in the bank (less than £10), except when the donations for a month are accumulating before being sent on. In view of that, the CIO makes no investments and holds no property.
There are no dedicated funds.
