**The PPL President’s Report for 2021** 

At the beginning of 2021 our library was again closed because of Governmental Covid restrictions. Inevitably our membership numbers suffered a decline, but loyal members continued with their subscriptions. 

In November we were able to restart the monthly coffee morning, book group and poetry circle. The Library reopened three days a week. The U3A Latin and Mediaeval History Groups could again use our building. As a result of continuing work by Mrs Sue Bartlett and Mr Peter Smerdon, the PPL catalogue of 1700o titles was placed online, and all have been reordered according to their Dewey classification number. Hundreds of new titles were added from local collections in the fields of maritime, Mediaeval and local history. 

Increasingly members took advantage of the convenience of direct debit subscriptions. 

I place on record the tireless activities of our secretary, vice-president and treasurer, who have looked after the Association during the Covid restrictions.
