|Summary of the purposes<br>of the charity as set out in<br>its governing document|Para 1.17|The Cosmetic Practise Standards Authority<br>(CPSA) aims to safeguard the public and<br>patients who undergo non-surgical cosmetic<br>and hair restoration surgery procedures.<br>We aim to protect the health of patients by<br>improving standards of care through the<br>promotion of good practice and the setting<br>of clinical standards. Through this we also<br>promote the importance of professionalism<br>of practitioners. This includes continual<br>professional development, auditing of<br>results, reporting of complications,<br>emphasising the importance of adequate<br>indemnity, consent and psychological<br>wellbeing of patients.<br>We aim to better inform the public, making<br>them aware of the risks and benefits of<br>treatments.|

|||Joint Council of Cosmetic Practitioners<br>(JCCP)<br>The JCCP, use the CPSA standards to<br>benchmark practitioners against. This<br>symbiotic relationship has the overarching<br>aim to safeguard the public.<br>Moving forward the CPSA hopes to<br>strengthen its ties with the JCCP. To ensure<br>viability moving forward, we plan to develop<br>a financial relationship from JCCP, by which<br>an agreed percentage of of the registrant<br>membership fee is paid to us.<br>This agreement will facilitate the further<br>iterations of the standards, ensuring they<br>are contemporaneous and to include novel<br>treatments that pose risks to the public.<br>We plan to respond to the government<br>consultation on practitioner licensing in the<br>hope to further improve patient and public<br>safety in this industry.|

(BAPRAS), The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) are the founding parent organisations who set up the CPSA through philanthropic donations of personnel and meeting venues. A seeding fund facilitated the legal fees to constitute the CPSA. These funds were paid directly on behalf of the CPSA and did transfer through a CPSA bank account.

Our long<br>term mission is to achieve statutory<br>regulation.<br>A step toward this mission, was the<br>achievement is the passing of the recent<br>passing of the The Botulinum Toxin and<br>Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 making<br>it illegal to provide such treatments to under<br>18s for cosmetic purposes.<br>Our Chair, Mr Alexander Woollard also<br>gave evidence at the All Party<br>Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Beauty,<br>Aesthetics and Wellbeing in 2022.<br>This combined approach, of raising public<br>awareness and working with policy makers<br>is protecting patients from harm.|
