|||The Objects ofthe CIO:||
|||1)The purpose ofthe Foundation<br>is the promotion<br>ofanimal and species<br>protection<br>in general and the worldwide<br>protection<br>and conservation<br>of<br>turtles<br>in particular.||

|Summary ofthe main<br>achievements<br>ofthe charity||||Securing three grants for specific projects helped achieve the following<br>results:||
|during the year||||Indonesia:<br>on the remote island ofSelaut Besar a total of777turtle nests||
|||||were protected and 62,125hatchlings<br>were assisted. This consisted of||
|||||leatherback,<br>green and hawksbill<br>species but also olive ridtey turtles||
|||||visited sporadically.||
|||||A ranger team of9locals could be trained,<br>deployed and paid plus||
|||||transport<br>and camp equipment<br>purchased<br>as well as materials<br>for data||
|||||collection.||
|||||A hatchery was built and patrols made regularly<br>to deter poachers.||
|||||The success ofthis new project has resulted<br>in the decision for itto||
|||||continue.||
|||||pg<br>g<br>paid for a hatchery<br>on Lacacao beach (one offour camps).<br>Overall, a record total of35,367loggerhead<br>nests were r~rded and||
|||||protected<br>by TF by our local rangers assisted by patrol dogs and drones.||
|||||Additionally,<br>funds contributed<br>to long-term<br>data collection ofturtles at||
|||||sea fitted with tracking devices, plus community<br>engagement<br>projects||
|||||such as providing<br>swimming<br>courses for children<br>and renovating a||
|||||school. (see Annual<br>Report p.20)||
|||||Fundraising<br>- collaborations<br>were explored<br>with various commercial||
|||||partners based<br>in the UK including<br>ethical clothing and jewellery<br>manufacturers,<br>eco-friendly<br>straw manufacturers<br>and other entities who||
|||||wanted<br>to contribute a share oftheir profits to helping<br>turtle conservation||
|||||were discussed<br>and several contract agreements<br>signed.<br>Itis intended|to|
