Umberleigh, Devon EX37 9DA The object of the CIO is the advancement of the Christian religion by providing funds to assist with the insuran, restoration, repair. improvement and beautification of St. Hieritha's Church, Chrttlehampton, Devon and heIng to provKle additional facilities and contributing towards the cost of maintaining the ministry at the church and day-to-day Gosts incidental thereto for and on behalf of the parochial church council of St Hieritha's church. The Trustees met formalh/ twi during the year. together with on-line nSultatIonS A copy of the receipts and payment accounts (CC16a) for this period is enclosed wth this report. The accounts have bn independently examlned and approved by Mr J.M. Braid, West Stowford, Chittlehampton EX37 90X. No material adverse matters were noted in his report . The charity's income is from three main sources.. (a) Rental payments for a cottage owned by the trustees, (b) Dividends eamed by investments in M and G CharrfurKls and COIF shares (c> donations from the organisers of a Local Authority registered '100 club. (Help Hieritha) vthose donations are restricted to help keep the building in good repair. The total income from these sources (together With a small amount of bank interest) was £13,685 There were no requests made by the PCC for financial support to help pay for repairs apart from meeting the cosl of insuring the two church buildings and the hire of rooms for meetings. The trustees unanimousty agreed to retain the surplus 'disposable' incoffte and continue with their efforts to improve the condrtion of Church Cottage ( despite resistance from the tenant) The Charty's expenditure on meeting ts Charitable Aims totalled £8,053 In addition the Cost of maintaining Charity was £1,944: comprising cost of insurance. rna1ntenan of the cottage and obtaining statutory certrficates. None of the trustse5 received payments or Claimed •xpens•s durFng the year neither were there any fund-raisers or employees The trustees regularty review the incomelexpendtture of the chartty and are satisfied that the charities aims are fully met and that the funds held in reserve will enable it to help fund any reasonable requests made by the PCC in their aim to keep the medieval building in good repair for the benefit of its congregation and the population at large now and in the future.
