Against Cancer to support
Dr Leandro
Castellano at The University
ofSussex
where he has been researching
and
developing
new drugs for harder to treat
breast cancers such as Triple
Negative. We have continued
to pay for
holistic treatments,
such as reflexology
for women and their family members to
help overall wellbeing. These treatments
have been particularly
beneficial at end
of
life where family members
have reported
their loved ones were calmer and in
visibly less pain. We have recognised
the
link between mental
health and physical
health and paid for Counselling
for
women and their family members. This is
sometimes
hard toaccess on the NHS
and quite often there can be a long wait
orsessions are time restricted. The cost
ofliving crisis has sadly meant families
are struggling
with the costoffood and
luxury items ortreats are few and far
between. We have issued supermarket
vouchers, sent treat hampers
and been
able to send families cinema vouchers,
theme park vouchers etcto enable them
tocreate lastin
meinories. We have also
sent gifts to the children ofthose recently
bereaved
in order to help them deal with
loss. We continue to signpost to other
organisations
ifneeded and promote
breast cancer awareness
on our social
media
lafforms.
