Charity name: Joey’s Legacy Boxer Rescue Liverpool

Charity registration number: 1186111

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome boxer
dogs and boxer crosses who are in need of
care. We have a no destruction policy and
never put a healthy dog to sleep. Full
assessment is completed whilst the dogs
are in our care to ensure that when
rehomed they can be matched to the right
family. We will then offer life time advice,
support, and rescue back up to the dogs
which we have rehomed.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Throughout the period 1 November 2019 to
31 October 2020 we have rehomed
approximately 20 boxer dogs and boxer
crosses through our charity.
These dogs have been signed over into our
care through hand ins from previous
owners and also from local pounds where
the dogs have been strays and have
served their 7 days so would have been
euthanized if we had not rescued them.
We have also provided support and
information for people who have adopted
dogs from us and also to the general
public.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 As a rescue we pride ourselves on taking
into account the needs of the dogs who are
within our care and also the need of our
supporters including foster homes and
adopters. We will continue to offer the back
up and support for the duration of the dog’s
lives that we support.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Throughout the period 1 November 2019 to
31 October 2020 we have rehomed
approximately 20 boxer dogs and boxer
crosses through our charity.
These dogs have been signed over into our
care through hand ins from previous
owners and also from local pounds where
the dogs have been strays and have
served their 7 days so would have been
euthanized if we had not rescued them.
We have also provided support and
information for people who have adopted
dogs from us and also to the general
public.
In March 2020 the global pandemic meant
that for the majority of the year we were in
various stages of lockdown. This meant
that we were unable to fundraise in the
conventional ways face-to-face and also
limited us being able to rehome dogs.
During this period, we focused on the
future for the rescue and got our website
redesigned and purchased a new vehicle to
enable us to continue our work more
efficiently once restrictions are lifted.
Despite challenges due to lack of
fundraising opportunities we continue to be
in a good position financially and have
generous supporters of the charity.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 As per the accounts attached
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 We aim to hold 12 weeks’ expenditure cash
in the bank account as unrestricted
reserves. At the end of the financial year
ending 31 October 2021 we were
considerably under this due to the impact
on fundraising. However, with lockdown
restrictions our expenditure has currently
reduced therefore this is not an area of
concern. Once we are able to we will
rebuild our reserves level through
fundraising events.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 £844.77
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 N/A
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24 N/A
