This is the first AGM of the organisation since we registered with the Charities Commission on 31[st] October 2019. Our financial year is 1[st] April to 31[st] March. Reports presented today cover the period 31[st] October 2019 to 31[st] March 2021. This brings us in line to the financial year for our next reporting period.

## **Annual report (period 31/10/2019 – 31/03/2021)**

## _Presented jointly by the Chair and the Secretary_

We bought the village field in February 2020 and also rented the top half of the field for 12 months. Since then we have moved the village shed over to the field and installed a wildflower garden, bird feeders and bug hotels (donated by Keep Wales Tidy) and two bird boxes (donated by Ysgol Penllwyn). The knotweed has been treated and bulbs and raised beds have been put in. A community book shed is being built and the children have brought football goals over. The field has been well used since it was bought for the community to use. The 2020 village party was cancelled because of the pandemic but there have been a lot of smaller socially distanced gatherings.

The top community area on the A44 has also been well used for socially distanced gatherings and is well maintained by people living up the top – bulbs have been planted and the knotweed is managed.

A Christmas card and £10 supermarket voucher was given to everyone over 70 years old in the area. Nearly everyone in the village has benefitted from the two community areas that the community association maintains and everyone was thanked for all their hard work.

## **Financial report (period 31/10/2019 – 31/03/2021)** _Presented by the Treasurer_

There was £4,133.05 in the bank at 31/10/2019 when we formally registered as a charitable incorporated organisation. £2,538 grant was received from Ceredigion Council which covered 50% of the cost of buying the village field. We received £60 income from community fundraising.

The biggest expenditure this period was purchase of the village field and associated costs (including public liability insurance at £135.20). We also paid out £371.80 for £10 Christmas vouchers plus postage.

Total income for the period was £6,734.11. Total expenditure for the period was £5,864.00

At 31[st] March 2021 there was £870.11 in the bank. £119.30 of this is restricted to Christmas vouchers because this was transferred to Goginan Community Association from Goginan Senior Citizens, which has now wound down.

Jan has £197 cash donation from Sylvia’s fundraising, not yet paid into the bank. Aber is Green is a local charitable organisation that wound up some years ago and would like to transfer their remaining funds (approximately £600) to Goginan Community Association. Aber is Green trustees have asked that some of the money is used to support the book swap shed. It was agreed to accept the money and use some of it to reimburse Jan, Louise and Mike for their outgoings on the shed.

## **Future plans**

Ideas include: more planting in the field, build some raised beds, replace some fence posts, develop the football field, more play equipment, and compost toilets would be useful. We don’t have a lot of money in the bank and it’s difficult to fundraise during the pandemic. It was agreed to make a list of materials needed and look for grants that may fund them.

Nationwide bank have been in touch to say that they’ll no longer support a community bank account so we need to find an alternative bank.

It was agreed to plan for a village party in August this year, depending on Covid.

There’s a bit of a problem with litter and dog poo. Cathryn will keep an eye on the litter. It was agreed not to have dog poo bins but carry on with messaging and asking people to take it home with them.
