**Around the Combe Health and Wellbeing Alliance Charity Number: 1186055 Annual Report for the Year Ending 2024**

## **Chair’s Statement**

Around the Combe Health and Wellbeing Alliance was established in 2019 with the primary aim of raising funds for the development of a swimming pool in Millom. Our vision was to provide a much-needed community facility that would promote health and wellbeing for residents of all ages. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we were unable to secure the necessary funding to move the project forward. As a result, the charity has remained dormant for the 6 past years, and the trustees are now considering formally closing the organization.

## **Charitable Activities and Performance**

Over the past years, the charity explored various funding opportunities and engaged with local stakeholders in an effort to bring the swimming pool project to life. However, due to a lack of available funding streams and other challenges, we were unable to make significant progress. With no active fundraising or project development in the last financial year, the charity has not been operational.

## **Financial Summary**

As the charity has remained inactive, there has been no income or expenditure recorded for the year. The charity does not hold any financial assets or liabilities at present.

## **Trustee Statement and Future Plans**

The trustees acknowledge that the charity has been inactive and have undertaken discussions about its future. Given the inability to secure funding for the swimming pool project and the absence of active initiatives, the trustees are now considering formally closing the charity. Steps will be taken to initiate the closure process in accordance with Charity Commission guidelines.

We would like to express our gratitude to the local community, supporters, and stakeholders who have shown interest in the project. While the vision of a swimming pool in Millom was not realized through this initiative, we hope that future opportunities may arise to bring such a facility to the area.

## **Acknowledgements**

We extend our appreciation to all those who have been involved with Around the Combe Health and Wellbeing Alliance since its inception. While our journey did

not result in the intended outcome, we are proud of our efforts to explore possibilities for improving health and wellbeing in Millom.

**Signed on behalf of the Trustees: Jenny Brumby Chair, Around the Combe Health and Wellbeing Alliance Date: 8/3/25**
