More Spanish speaking people is getting to know of our existence, and the number of people enquiring about the services is increasing. Links have been created with other Spanish schools in the country, working together with some of them. We organised events that were very popular amongst the Spanish speaking families such as the visit of Reyes Magos (3 wise men). We managed to attract teachers for the different groups, and this has helped us to grow as a school. The experience the teachers gained in the school allowed them to move their careers forward. The school has helped other Spanish networks such as the Council of Residents thanks to the promotion of other organisations in our events. We have managed to organise weekly Spanish language classes for the whole school calendar, growing from 30 students when we reopen to 50 over at the end of the year. After careful consideration and a thorough assessment of the charity´s current capacity, the trustees made the difficult decision to suspend all services as of May 2024. This decision was driven by a combination of factors, including a lack of sustained external support, limited funding, and the increasing challenges faced by trustees who have been providing support far beyond the typical expectations of their role. While the supplementary school has been a valuable and much-needed resource for Spanish-speaking children in the community, it has become unsustainable under current conditions. The trustees finally decided to close the charity, final payments will be made, and any remaining funds will be transferred to a charity offering similar services. The funding helped to pay for materials and the teachers that help running the school. Promotion on social media was mainly done using free channels.
