To broaden the activities provided to appeal to the wider community, the Gelligaled Park Community Action Group has a six-phase plan:

1. The first phase is to design, build and maintain the MUGA in Gelligaled Park – Completed.

2. To increase the number of flowers in Gelligaled Park – work in progress – additional planters and flowers located in Gelligaled Park during 2025.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

3. To create and deliver opportunities for the community in Ystrad and adjacent communities to celebrate Christmas. This has been achieved via providing an annual Christmas concert, post-concert community social event, and a community Christmas tree and lights.

4. The fourth phase is to explore making use of the land adjacent to the children’s playground in Gelligaled Park. The Action Group received feedback during the original consultation process that the children’s playground facilities are insufficient to meet demand.

5. The fifth phase is to consider the potential for developing the former paddling pool area in Gelligaled Park for use by members of the community.

6. The sixth phase is to explore the creation a ‘Community Cafe’ in Gelligaled Park. The purpose of which is to create opportunities for local residents to meet, socialise and engage in a range of activities in Gelligaled Park.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The Gelligaled Park Community Action Group has worked closely with officers of Rhondda Cynon Taff. As a result in 2023 a multi-use games area was been constructed in Gelligaled Park.

In 2024, flower planters were purchase and located in Gelligaled Park. In December 2024 the second annual Christmas concert organised by the action group was held in Ystrad Rhondda. The Action Group also funded and organised the erection of a Christmas tree and lights in the Peace Garden, Ystrad Rhondda.

In 2025, further flower planters and flowers were purchased and located in Gelligaled Park. A lunch for the community to celebrate St David’s day was organised and delivered by the Action Group. Plans for the third annual Christmas concert and erection of a community Christmas tree and lights are well underway. The third annual Christmas concert will be held on Friday 5[th] December.

The Action Group also raised funds through private individual donations, annual subscriptions by local organisations and grant funding.
