Aims,
Our Mission
Stoma Heroes offer lifestyle and emotional support, to anyone who has or connected to someone with a Stoma. We do this in a variety of ways on the internet using Twitter, WhatsApp, and Facebook. We also hold locally organized meetings in the Somerset area.
Our Vision
We are a group of ostomates who seek to enrich the lives of people with a stoma, our vision is to tackle and reduce the stigmas of having and Ostomy through awareness and education.
Our Values
We believe that if you can get cogs aligned and turn in the correct way, you will build a positive energy and move forward. We are here to help in your hour of need. With our passion and enthusiastic approach, we will try and help build your confidence and do what is best for you.

With the covid restrictions in place meeting up and other awareness events haven’t been running, but we have restarted our monthly meetings for the Mendip areas and attended a wake up to wells event in wells to raise awareness to the visitors of the event. We are continuously looking at ways to grow.
We did a pilot meeting within the Yeovil area to hopefully start a group in the south somerset areas.
We approached Goldenstones leisure Centre about doing a communal swim for people with stomas, we arranged a swimming session and was attended by roughly 10 people in November. We are looking to make this a permanent activity going forward.
We are actively working with different sectors to help raise awareness and help with the mental health.
