## **Music for Memories Mid Sussex Annual Report and Accounts 2022** ## **Aims and Purposes** Music for Memories Mid Sussex aims to provide personalised music headsets to those living with memory loss, loneliness or other needs across the community in order to bring joy and comfort to those receiving them. Music for Memories Mid Sussex works on a basis of no charge per headset in order to ensure all who need to benefit from them are able to. ## **Objectives and Activities** Music for Memories Mid Sussex aims to deliver approximately 50 headsets per year to applicable individuals and support local care and residential homes in developing personalised playlists for residents. This is best done through face-to-face meetings as development of a relevant headset can take several hours and depending on the recipient may need to be done over a number of smaller time blocks. ## **Achievements and Performances** Much as with 2020 and 2021, 2022 has proved a challenging year for Music for Memories Mid Sussex. Most care and residential homes and settings have either been in sporadic lockdowns or still limiting visits to those directly connected to residents. Whilst understandable from a safety perspective this has been incredibly challenging for us to reignite our movement and whilst we have more hope for 2022, we have only been able to deliver 8 headsets and playlists across the region. Our director has also been pregnant with her second child for much of 2022 which has been a much harder challenge than in her previous ones so this has limited capacity. ## **Volunteers** Music for Memories Mid Sussex runs entirely on a volunteer basis and the trustees would like to thank those who support us in the work we do, with particular thanks to Jackie Beckett, who looks after the financial administration of the organisation, and Stephen Beckett who has been of invaluable in the maintenance of our website. ## **Financial Review** The Covid-19 Pandemic continues to have a significant impact on the finances of Music for Memories Mid Sussex. Due to capacity issues we have opted not to attempt any fundraising events so our income has been limited however our expenditure has also been comparatively limited so we are still ending 2022 with a reasonable figure in our bank account. We will carry forward £6922.32 into 2023.
