LIFE CENTRAL CHURCH REDDITCH

Charity Number: 1185920

Aim and Pursoses:

As recorded in our foundation documents:

Life Central Church Redditch has the following objectives as a charity.

4.1 The objects of the Church (“the Objects”) are for the benefit of the public:

Achievement and Performance:

Over the reporting period the charity has been restricted by the Covid 19 pandemic, but despite these obstacles we have continued to function and in some areas thrived:

From March 2020 we closed our weekly home meetings.

Started production of a YouTube on line, recorded church services. This ministry has continued throughout the Covid pandemic restrictions.

We have produced weekly on line services From 10th April 2020.

This has involved the purchase of equipment and training in the use of video editing software.

We have also invested in the purchase of media for use in the video productions. Extra copyright licensing fees have also been a factor in the cost of meeting the needs of the church.

While this has been a challenge it has also meant that our reach into the community has been enhanced by the promotion of the video service on platforms like YouTube and FaceBook.

Again the Covid restrictions limited us to outdoor meetings of up to 6 people in bubbles through summer 2020. We conducted services in the open air when the weather permitted. Tables from the hall were used on the grass and the audio system was set up outside. Communion was dispensed in a covid safe manner to the congregants who sat in family groups of up to six on the grass.

The church has enjoyed these outdoor services and we plan to continue them into the future.

Relief of need: financial and sickness.

Where we became aware that there were members of the church or community we provided cash and vouchers to these families: Several gifts and parcels were given to members and contacts as we became aware of the need.

Pastoral care and support given to those who were elderly and locked down.Regular contact by phone and in person from time to time where needed.

Over this time it has been essential that we keep in contact with the members of the church using email, text message and WhatsApp groups to communicate and pray together. We have had members visiting the elderly and those who are isolating because of medical conditions.

Overseas Missions:

Tanzania

Our support for overseas mission continues through financial support for Corrie Arrowsmith who has relocated to the Philippines. Thought 2020 Corrie has worked with “Teach Beyond” working in a mission school in Tanzania.

Liv Village

Jan and David Arrowsmith are supported .During 2020 the reporting period they have transferred from LIV Village in South Africa to now work with Logos Hope mission ship.

Several members of the church are involved in working for and supporting mission work in Pakistan.

Community Involvement and service:

Toddler Play Group:

Prior to the Covid restrictions we organised a play group for 2 and 3 year old children. Up to 60 mothers and babies were attending the group and we found this to be a vital part of our connection with the Oakenshaw community. Sadly this had to close because of the covid restrictions and the restrictions placed on us by the property managers.

Oakenshaw Community Hall.

We rent the community hall from Rubicon Leisure which is a company set up by the Redditch council to run its leisure facilities in the town. We are actively looking for a property to rent on a more permanent basis. We would run more programs for the community if we had access to a kitchen and the hall on a more regular basis.

Financial Review;

Reserves Policy:

While we hold some reserves these are in line with our desire to rent or purchase our own property. The amount we hold in reserve is proportional to expected cost of leasing and maintaining a property when a suitable one becomes available.
