- **Governance Statement:** The trustees have reviewed the charity’s governing document and confirm it remains up to date. The trustees have fulfilled their legal duties, including acting in the charity’s best interests, managing its resources responsibly, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 

## **4. Activities and Achievements** 

During the financial year ended 31 December 2024, Better Connected Beaconsfield, a charity focused on promoting social inclusion in Beaconsfield and the surrounding area, undertook the following activities: 

- **Acts of Kindness:** The charity’s volunteers delivered 186 ‘acts of kindness’, defined as a specific act which provided a service or a material donation (i.e. A replacement domestic appliance) to a beneficiary. 

- **Befriending Program:** Matched 6 volunteers with individuals at risk of social exclusion, providing companionship through regular visits and phone calls. 

- **Digital Literacy Workshops and IT loans:** Provided 25 tablet computers to elderly individuals allowing access to the internet, video links, and word processing. We also provide training and a monthly drop-in at the local library for technical support. 

- **Summer Fair:** Hosted an event that engaged over 200 community members, raising £2,000 to support the charity’s programs. 

These initiatives align with our charitable objectives to prevent social exclusion and assist individuals in integrating into society. 

## **5. Public Benefit Statement** 

Better Connected Beaconsfield has delivered public benefit in the following ways: 

- **Reducing Social Isolation:** Befriending services have alleviated loneliness, particularly among elderly and vulnerable residents. 

- **Enhancing Digital Inclusion:** Workshops have empowered individuals with skills to access online services and stay connected with family and friends. 

- **Strengthening Community Ties:** Our activities have fostered a sense of belonging and improved community cohesion in Beaconsfield. 

These outcomes directly support our mission and benefit the public in line with Charity Commission expectations.
