Report of the Trustees
The Trustees are pleased to report another successful year for Ripon Choral Society. The Society delivered a full programme of music-making and community engagement, supported by our members, audiences and volunteers. Income for the year was £79, 531 with expenditure of £83,994 resulting in a small deficit of £4,464. This reflects a season in which four concerts were performed compared with three in the previous year.
Carmina Burana – Carl Orff Messiah – G F Handel St John Passion – JS Bach Elijah – F Mendelssohn
We were particularly delighted to be able to welcome Wetherby Choral Society to join us for a thrilling performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Throughout the season the choir maintained strong membership and delivered well-attended concerts at Ripon Cathedral with our professional partners. We continued to invest prudently in artistic quality – professional soloists and orchestra - while keeping participation affordable.
The Society remains indebted to those who support its work through donations. Their generosity helps to sustain the Society both now and into the future enabling more people to share the wonder of great choral music. Our sincere thanks go to them. We also thank our Musical Director, accompanist, volunteers, concert sponsors and patrons, and, above all, our singers and audiences.
Declaration
The Trustees have approved the Trustees’ Report above.
