The charity's main activities
We are a small independent charity offering an information and support network for cancer patients, families and carers across Yorkshire and the Humber. Our vision is to effect change so that everyone impacted by cancer has the very best experience possible, and is able to make fully informed choices and shape future services.

Achievements and performance
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT FOR YORKSHIRE CANCER COMMUNITY 2023/2024
2023/2024 has been a very successful year for Yorkshire Cancer Community.
We increased our events, talks and meetings by over 100%.
We have delivered our Cancer Smart message to diverse groups and we are now in the process of widening our work to cover additional areas of West Yorkshire.
I would like to personally thank all our Cancer Champions ,Cancer Smart Digital Champions and fellow Trustees who work hard to help us promote our message
This year two of our Trustees , Paul Vose and Richard Midgley have resigned and I really value their input over recent years . I now offer a very warm welcome to our two new trustees Richard Myers and Helen Moss who are already starting to make a big impact on our Charity .In the next year we are keen to recruit further Trustees to future proof and continue our achievements.
Firstly I would like to thank Jason Pawluk. ,Tracy Holmes , and Hayley Snowden of The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance for their ongoing support and belief in our aims.
Our Charity can only exist because of our support staff.
This year we have added Clare Lockwood as a part time administrator and Vicky Farr who looks after our Social Media . Their influence is making a considerable difference already.
Finally this Charity would not exist without all the hard work and commitment delivered by our Communications and Engagement Officer Jill Long who has been involved since the formation of YCC.
I appreciate everyone associated with Yorkshire Cancer Community and I am proud to be your Chairman.

The netpayments for the year were £9,075, including net receipts of £1,250 on unrestricted funds and net payments of £10,325 on restricted funds.
Reserves policy
The charity's free reserves, at the year end were £7,401.
The trustees have agreed a reserves policy to hold a minimum three months of operating costs in unrestricted reserves. Currently, we are not meeting this target, but have ensured our unrestricted reserves are sufficient to cover redundancy and wind-down costs.
