## **LOVE LIFE INTERNTERNATIONAL CIO PROJECT UPDATE**

## **A SHORT PROJECT UPDATE INCLUDING**

Our activities taking place at Manchester Wesleyan Holiness Church, 150 Boundary Lane, Hulme Manchester M15 6NW, they are going well. We have distributed sleeping bags; toiletries; safe space for mothering parents ; family support and feeding the homeless However, there were a few things that we had not foreseen, and we had to make a few adjustments on the time for the mothering parents to start a bit late. This was the area of increase in number of demands; increasing the times and more commitment needed. The homeless also asked if we could provide food on a Sunday since everywhere is closed on that particular day.

We did have a number of people for counselling using the safe space who had bereavement, illness and family issues. Mostly it was providing a listening ear and a place they felt safe and relaxed. We also had some individuals who had mental health challenges attending as drop in persons as they felt for company. We had a lot of people come in for sleeping bags because they found that their tents were removed and we had run out. The homeless also have a place to shower and the toiletries are very beneficial as an essential to them. We really appreciate charities like INKIND DIRECT who sell these products to us at a very low price

We distributed mother and baby essentials to mothers who had financial difficulties and also lone parents. We also gave out pads tooth paste tissues. Including toiletries like deodorants tooth brushes, shampoo and conditioners. Pampers and wipers were also given. We gave to 14 bags in total that came prepacked from In Kind Direct.

Cheris came to get some help for herself and boyfriend. She also was very grateful because she managed to also get help for her daughters and one of them was pregnant when she first came.

Darrel is one of the community support individuals who motivate and usually knows who is who and where they sleep and how they are sleeping rough. He has played a very big part in helping to support Paul walks and comes very early to have the homeless. some toiletries and something to eat every week. He also would like to volunteer and give back to the society he says.

James is homeless and when he first came he was very shy and would not talk or eat, he would just watch. Now he is eating, interacting and has put himself forward to become a volunteer with his friend Justin.

## **1. PRESS RELEASE OR ARTCLE IN YOUR LOCAL PRESS**

WE DID NOT HAVE ANY LOCAL PRESS BECAUSE THE WORD WENT AROUND SO FAST BECAUSE OF THE FLYRS AND THE BAGS MADE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW.

## 2. **ANYTHING ELSE THAT SHOWS HOW THE PROJECT WENT**

FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS WERE HAPPY AND APPRECIATIVE OF THE SERVICE AND GOODS PROVIDED. THEY ALSO HAD TIME SPENT INTERACTING WITH ONE ANOTHER AND THE STAFF. SOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUAL REQUESTED FOR PRAYERS THOSE WHO WERE BELIEVED IN CHRIST. THEY ALSO SHARED INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR CHALLENGES AND HOW THEY GOT HELP IN OTHER AREAS THEY WERE STRAGGLING.

THERE IS A HIGH DEMAND OF THE TOILETRIES FOR FAMILIES AND THE HOMELESS. WE ARE HAVING MORE AND MORE NEW PEOPLE COMING AND IN NEED OF FOOD AND TOILETRIES.
