2022 Trustee Statement

To our esteemed stakeholders, supporters, and partners,

The heartbeat of London is not just in its historic sites, bustling streets, or iconic skyline. It is in the hopes and dreams of every Londoner, regardless of their socio-economic status. As the world continues to evolve and face unprecedented challenges, our vision at the McBridge Foundation remains steadfast: to bridge the divide between those who can seize the vast opportunities London offers, and those who, due to circumstances beyond their control, are left in the shadows.

In pursuit of this vision, the McBridge Foundation is committed to extending its support to charities and organizations that align with our core areas of focus:

  1. Preventing or Relief of Poverty : Recognizing the debilitating effects of poverty, especially on the young minds that represent our future, we remain devoted to aiding organizations that strive to battle and alleviate this inequality.

  2. Advancement of Arts & Culture : Art and culture are the soul of our city. Yet, for many Londoners, this soul remains distant. By supporting organizations dedicated to democratizing access to art and culture, we aspire to make these treasures available to all.

  3. Advancement of Education : Beyond the conventional classroom, education stands as the beacon of enlightenment and self-betterment. Our support extends to organizations that value education in its entirety, from the scholastic to the athletic and the cultural.

  4. Environmental Conservation, Protection, and Improvement : With the looming threat of climate change, it is imperative to both raise awareness and take action. We endorse organizations committed to improving London’s environment, from combatting poor air quality to championing recycling and renewable energy.

While 2022 saw unforeseen challenges, particularly due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the gastronomy sector, resulting in a hiatus in our social media income, we managed to generate £150 from the distribution of the book 'Jack' through McBridge Support Limited. We express our gratitude to trustee Max Bruckner, whose generosity ensured that all costs were covered privately, enabling us to report a net P/L for 2022 of £150 .

Looking ahead to 2023, we are taking steps to solidify and diversify our fundraising avenues. We will be revitalizing our social media fundraising and introducing cold-calling fundraising activities, steered by dedicated volunteers. Our mission is to stabilize and potentially increase the inflow of donations, ensuring a stronger support system for the causes we champion.

We thank you for your unwavering support and trust. Together, we can continue to make London a city of equal opportunities for all.

Maximilian Bruckner, Chairman McBridge Foundation
