Para 1.17 and 1.19	HAIR REBORN provides free advice and hair dressing services to individuals confronting and/or about to confront hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatment. The advice and hair dressing services are provided by one employee and a number of salon-based volunteers who are trained to provide the hair dressing services at a network of salons throughout England and (now) Scotland. Advice is provided on a telephone helpline and at a (now weekly) “clinic” held at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. (In order to deal with the additional workload arising from the weekly clinic a second part time employee will be added during 2026.)

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	The Trustees continue to believe that HAIR REBORN is well regarded within the hair dressing “industry”, many hospital cancer units and other cancer related charities. By September 2025 HAIR REBORN had provided advice to over 2,000 individuals. Of these over 870 had been referred to the free in salon hair dressing services helping them achieve a new manageable hairstyle and to regain their confidence and self-esteem. The Trustees strongly believe (as is evidenced by the very positive feedback received from those helped) that the free advice and hair dressing services provided are really appreciated by and are of considerable benefit to those who receive them.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	In the Annual Return for the year ended 30th September 2024 it was reported that a deficit had been incurred, but that the Trustees were taking steps to seek a return to a surplus being generated. The Trustees are pleased to report that a surplus (£1,172) was achieved in the year ended 30th September 2025, and the indications are that such will also be the case in 2026. However, the Trustees are in no way complacent about the need to continue to seek new income sources as regards both grants and donations. It is also hoped that “sponsorship” of the advice services provided at St George’s will be agreed.
