Responsibilitles and As the charity trustees of the Trust. you are responsible for the preparation
basis of report of the accounts in accordan￿ with the r8quirements of the Charities Act
2011 1.the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examinalion. I
have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145{5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have
come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me
cause to believe that in, any material respect..

Minster Lions Club of York is active within
the area of the City of York and the
surrounding suburbs. It alsa hèlps with
activities which also serve people of other
countries in the wortd. Our primary aim is to
serne. Listed below are some ofthe
activities our members have undertaken
during this period.
The Promotion of Citizenshlp
The club has involved itself with several
local groups, local primary schools and
nurseries, other small charity groups and
our local hospital. We look to learn about
their ambitions and nurture links to help
future alliances. We have set up prostate
cancer testing this year in conjunction with
other Lions Clubs.
The Voluntserlng Approach
Every member is a volunteer, and as such
¢overs administrative ¢osts with all

donations Gollected being given to worthy
charitable causes.
We en¢ourage other community groups to
join us as volunteers in order that bolh
parties can gain by achieving more with
internal quality of setv1￿.
Our members have again been involved
wilh the Lions ROAR project, working with
three local primary schools to invite their
children to participate in a competition.
Pupils are asked to work in small groups to
actively think, plan and participate to show
their ideas of how they would Ghange the
world for the better This is judged by an
invited panel of judges.
As a means of advancing good citizenship
we support the annual York Maralhon and
10K Run by marshalling water stations.
At Christmas our Rocking Rudolph project,
accompanied by Father Christmas
entertained the public and particularly
children. This fulfils a schedule over six
weeks and is our major fundraiser.
The Poverty and Medical Ralief
The club makes annual donations to Lions
International Foundation to help with Sight-
First. Medic-Alert, and disaster funds.
The Club works locally with small charity
groups who need aid with food and
household requisites.
Along with malch funding with York
Freemasons, the Club supported the
purchase of commercial equipment for
Chocolate & Co - a chanty that supports
unemployed x-addicts in York back into the
hospitality industry.
The Club once again financially supported
the York Foster Children's Association
Christmas Party.
The Club manufactures Emergency
Hospital Toiletry Packs. These are
purchased by other Lions Clubs for
distribution to local hosprtals.
The Club distributes the Message in
Bottle inrtiative throughout York via
promotions and events. This initiative being

enc Services as a

vèry real means of communication for
those with medical conditions.
Minster Lions Charity Partnership. Once
again from November till Easter monthly
financial support was given to 3 local
charities for emergency requests and
claims. The charities being Age UK {Yorkl
for the elderly - Homestart (York) for
young families and Door84, 8 charity that
supports families in the deprived Groves
area of York.
The Club, in a joint venture wrth Derwent
Lions financially supported the supply of
Tv's to the York Hosprtal Renal dialysis
unit.
The Club once again sponsored a week's
holiday at the Filey Lions Chalet for three
underprivileged local Yorf( families.
The Club continues to operate a project
known as Library in a Box, this entails
collerting, collating, and consigning
unwanted children's books to Lions Clubs
in Sri Lanka who distribute the books to
schools and libraries.
The Club has continued the collection of
used spectacles from pharmacies,
opticians and surgeries in the York area.
They are packed and transported to the
Lions MD centre in Birmingham where they
are sorted for distribution to undeveloped
counties.

responsible to keep the club in active
mode, therefore the Club needs lo keep
alive to allow it to cary out its objectives. It
is of major importance to keep the moral

by promoting at events during the year.
