||||We have continued<br>to remain<br>in regular contact with the head teacher of|
||||the nursery<br>which has enabled<br>us to identify the particular<br>needs ofthe|
||||children<br>attending<br>the nursery<br>and provide specific support where<br>it is|
||||required.|
||||During the year we have organised<br>a shipment<br>ofwriting and number|
||||books and trays for the tables<br>in the nursery<br>where books and stationery|
||||can be stored for the children.<br>One ofthe trustees<br>visited the Gambia|
||||early<br>in the year and was able to take filled pencil cases for the older|
||||children to use. She provided<br>lesson plans and resources for the staff at|
||||the nursery<br>and was able to begin a training<br>project with the staff to|
||||support<br>phonics<br>and English teaching.|
||||During<br>her stay in Jan Jan Bureh, she met up with representatives<br>from|
||||another charity<br>in The Gambia,<br>Mobility 4 The Gambia,<br>and wheelchairs|
||||were provided<br>for two children<br>in the viilage with additional<br>needs so that|
||||they could attend the nursery.|
||||Money for staff salaries and food for the nursery<br>children was sent each|
||||term during the year.<br>With the outbreak of COVID 19during 2020, we|
||||sent extra money<br>with the salary money<br>to go towards<br>food parcels for|
||||the families ofthe nursery<br>children,<br>To support<br>the nursery<br>staff and their|
||||families<br>during<br>the lockdown,<br>we continued<br>to send salaries when the|
||||nursery<br>was closed.|
||||One ofour trustees<br>organised<br>a sewing project with people<br>in her|
||||community<br>and together they made 75 new dresses for the younger<br>girls|
||||attending<br>the nursery.<br>Each ofthe staff at the nursery<br>was given two|
||||uniform<br>t-shirts<br>printed<br>with the nursery<br>logo. These were sourced and|
||||printed<br>in the UK and shipped<br>over to the Gambia,|
