## ANNUAL TRUSTEES REPORT FOR ST. JUST IN PENWITH MEN’S SHED 2022 – 2023 Throughout 2022 and into early 2023 we have received a number of enquires for membership of our Group, but we are restricted by our lack of a workshop base. Our Facebook Group page ‘St Just in Penwith Men’s Shed’ continues to attract interest and is one of the major sources of enquiries for membership. In October, we gave a presentation to the local U3A Group to help promote our Men’s Shed, which was very positively received and resulted in one new member and the possibility of another. From late 2021 and through 2022 we have continued to pursue various building options, including at Pendeen Village Hall and Bosavern Community Farm but we have not been able to agree viable lease agreements with those organisations. In October 2022 we had potential offers of 2 buildings owned by the National Trust, but these were withdrawn as potential workshop facilities mainly because of poor accessibility. We also had an offer of a possible workshop in a farm barn in Newbridge but that was withdrawn by the tenants because of its location in a busy working farmyard. As a positive outcome of the discussions relating to the possible Newbridge workshop location, we held an open meeting which increased our membership to 12, including 3 ladies. We have in 2022 and early 2023 used our home garage and driveway facilities to do some limited Group work including supplying several wooden planters to private individuals and to the St Just in Bloom Group, as well as a large workbench modified from two of our existing workbenches supplied to a local glass artist. In March 2023 we managed to obtain temporary storage facilities in farm outbuildings and moved all our equipment and materials from Geevor Tin Mine and various menbers’ homes into a single location. The owner allowed us the use for a year at no cost. He also arranged for us to give a presentation to Penzance Rotary Club in May 2023. The Shed’s finances were fairly static over the period with no grants obtained but no major expenditure.
