Trustees, report for the year ended 31 August 2025
Raunds Community Llbrary Trust IRCLTI provides an information and library service managed by the
Trustees and volunteers of RCLT which is a separate organisation from the Library Service run by
West Northamptonshire Council on behalf of them and North Northampton shire Council.
During the course of the year we have attracted more community groups into the library.
We have also actively PLJrsued more external users which provide an increasingly valuable source of
income. New housing estates have resulted In an Increase of resldents uslng the library.
We have again increased our free events for children, including theatre productions, magic shows
and STEM activitie5. A small team of our volunteers run these.
RCLT continue to take part In locally organised events such as the Saturday Markets, the
Remembrance Day Parade and the Town Garage Sale.
The Library to You service continues to provide a supply of books and audio material to resldents
who are hDilSebound or In care home5 and we continue to advertise the servlce to all of the local
care homes and In local health practices.
The Trustees must expre55 their thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers who have willingly given
up their time and energy to keep the Ilbrary operating in our town. The TrLSStees must also thank the
local residents and their words of encouragement, many local organisation5, West and North
Northamptonshire Council and the LlbraryPlus service for thelr ongoing assistance.
A major blow toward5 the end of the year saw Creating Tomorrow MAT, our landlord, who gave
notlce on the lease which would have resulted in the closure of the library.
However a local benefactor stepped up with a large donation to enable us to enter negotiatlon5 wlth
North Northamptonshire Library to take on a 3 year lease in our own right.
The CIO'S financial result for the year was a net cash inflow of £38808.
The Trustees. aim in the comlng year 15 to actively source on80ing external fundlng to ensure the
continuation of the seryices provided to the community.
