Trustee report for April 2023 to March 2024

Nursery is running well and maintaining the high standard of care we expect. Staff have shown high levels of professionalism and dedication. The Trustees do not have any serious incidents to report.

Our numbers are high, a high proportion of our children attend from 9.00-3.30pm, using the 30 hours government funding.

We ran an open day on a Saturday morning during the Spring term for current parents to attend with their children, it was very successful with many of our families attending. We have had a high level of SEN children this year, with 2 EHCP’s approved and 1 in progress.

We had a visit from a local Owl sanctuary, plus we had Living Eggs in Nursery again, both visits were very exciting and are always welcomed by the children and staff. Once a term we have a visit from Reverand Mark from our local church which the children really enjoy. We also have strong community links with Tesco Quedgeley, who very kindly donate lovely items for our nursery. In the Spring term we also had Supastrikers, a children’s football coaching company, once a week for six weeks.

Our level 3 apprentice has now completed her apprenticeship. All staff appraisals have taken place and all staff training ongoing to support CPD.

Accountants' report to the trustees of Beech Green Nursery

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Beech Green Nursery and Out of School Clubs for the period ended 31 March 2023.

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

• 1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that:

• proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the Act);

• and

• accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply

• with the accounting requirements of the Act; or

• 2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the eaxmination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1 Accounting policies

Basis of preparation

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (as applied to small entities by section 1A of the standard).

Pensions

Contributions to defined contribution plans are expensed in the period to which they relate.
