Chair’s Report to March 2023
The year of March 2022 to March 2023 saw some challenges which the Trustees and Committee members worked hard to overcome. We had some Committee members and a Trustee resign however new Trustees joined and all members have proved to be hard working and full of new ideas.
Once again, throughout the year many events were held by different groups and businesses. The Recreational Hall Committee held a particularly successful event to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which was provided free due to grants and donations. The Hall makes an annual donation to the Church Newsletter.
Refurbishment of the bar area was completed to a high standard and cleaning maintenance of the Hall continued to take place.
The sudden and unexpected resignation of the Treasurer Trustee provided challenges which were overcome by the invaluable contribution of an experienced forensic accountant who also oversaw a Financial System Review and agreed to subsequently become a Trustee.
Finally, I would like to thank once again all Committee members past and present. Without the voluntary efforts and work given to keep this wonderful Village Hall going, Seaton and Sigglesthorne and the surrounding rural area would be deprived of heritage going back to 1935.
