Wednesday 1 December 2021 Chairs Report for Annual General Meeting

We’ve certainly had a very unusual two years but a lot has happened and a lot has been achieved. We were given and acquired thousands of pounds in grants, and done wonders renovating the hall both in and outside. A new flat roof on the kitchen extension, the Ladies and Gents toilets refurbished and a Disabled toilet fitted off the main hall. All these areas were redecorated and the hall floor rejuvenated by Committee members applying two coats of teak oil. The back room is now decorated and the bar area, and a new carpet will be laid soon. We have had some Committee members resign but now have some new members who prove hard working and full of new ideas. Anyone interested in joining the Committee should get in touch and discuss it with us. New events are taking place and prove popular. The usual ‘time honoured’ events are happening and hopefully the annual Horticultural Show can be held next year.

Lastly, I would like to thank all Committee members past and present. Without the voluntary efforts and work given to keep this wonderful Village Hall going, Seaton and Sigglesthorne and surrounding rural area would be deprived of heritage going back to 1935.
