£1.800.000. This Sum amounts lo £40,000 pw propety for KCAI'S 45 properties. A full inlem
refurbishment currently costs approxlmately £30.000, if exterior works were required 8.9. re-roofing,
replacement windows artd doors it would cost considerably more.

A Nominee Company with Brewin Dolphin adminlsters the siocks and shares on behalf of the Charity.
The Trustees choose a low lo moderate risk for the investments. Following •Jvice it was decided that
to securo the long term financial health of the Charity the risk level should b8 increased from 5 10 6 to
meet the requlred returns the future l.e, 2% plus Infflation and fees.

finalised wlth the Charity Commisslon. When Ihis is complete CTHT will be fully integralod with the
Charlty.

The financial Stateffl￿ have been prepared in accordance with the second edition of the Charities
Statement of RecomM￿ded issued in Oclober 2019, the Financial ReFoMing Stsndard
applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
Basis of preparalion
The Kendal Charity For The Aged And Infimi meets the definilion of a public benefit entity under FRS
102. The a¢¢otsnts {finar￿la1 statements) have been prepaied under the historical cosi convention
ilems recognised at cost or transaction value unless ottsrwise stated in the relevanl n￿8{$) to these
accounts.

The irustees consider Ihat there are no material uncertainties atout the tharity's abilty to continue as
a going concun.
Reclassification of comparative amounts
The unrealised gains and losses on investments were previousty shown as a separate designated
reserve. Following discussions it was agreed that as this Is all Unrestrict￿ it should bg Shown as such
in accounts so the funds are now all shown as unrestricted.
Income and endowments
Voluntary income including donations, gifts. legacies and grants that provide core furlding or are of a
general nature is recognised when the charity has entitlemenl lo the income, it is probable that the
income will b8 received and the amounl can be measured with sufficient reliabilty.
Lbnalions and/egac￿$
Donations and legacies are re¢¢gnised a receivable basis when receipt is pthble and the
amwnt Can be rdiably measured.
Inveslmenl incvme
Dividends are recognised once the divideTrJ has been declared and notification has been received of
the dividend due.
Expenditure
