To promote, maintain and improve<br>the character, amenities, and<br>environment of the area of benefit<br>for the public benefit.<br>3. To promote such other charitable<br>purposes for the public benefit that<br>are charitable according to the laws<br>of England and Wales as may be<br>determined from time to time.<br>The CIO shall be non-party in<br>politics and non-sectarian in<br>religion.|

Four editions of Goldsworth News<br>were published during the year, in<br>September and November 2024,<br>and February and May 2025.<br>Copies were delivered by volunteers<br>to most properties in Goldsworth<br>Park and were also available in<br>local shops and various other<br>buildings, as well as on our website.<br>The range of topics covered in the<br>magazine included:-<br>•<br>Views from the Chair<br>•<br>Reports on the activities of The<br>Natural Goldsworth Park Project<br>and articles about the wildlife in<br>and around the lake<br>•<br>News from St Andrew’s Church<br>by Revd Scott Smith<br>•<br>News and updates from other<br>local charities such as the<br>Lakeview Community Action<br>Group, Goldsworth Care,<br>Goldsworth Park Scout Group<br>and Girlguiding<br>•<br>Event listings around the local<br>area<br>•<br>Other local interest stories<br>2. We held a number of work parties<br>through September and October<br>2024 and residents planted<br>wildflower seeds across North<br>Meadow. This was relatively<br>successful as numerous patches of<br>Yellow Rattle came up the following<br>spring.<br>3. We held two public meetings in<br>October 2024 and March 2025.<br>Attendance was relatively low, but|





we are loyally supported by our local councillors and county councillors. Guest speakers featured from Zero Carbon Guildford’s Home Energy Task Force and WEAct Woking Environment Action. 4.  We held community litter picks in October 2024 and March 2025 and a significant amount of rubbish was collected. We also supported a young resident in completing the volunteering component of his Gold level DofE award though regular litter picking in the community. 5. We supported the Woking Hospice’s annual Dragon Boat Race by managing an indoor tea and cakes stall. 6. We supported the St Andrew’s Church Summer Fair and the Christmas Market, as well as the Lakeview Community Fun Day. 7. We hosted community quiz nights in November 2024 and February 2025 which were well attended.
