**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY RAISING STANDARDS IN THE FIELD OF ORTHOPAEDIC ANAESTHESIA AND PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE FOR PATIENTS THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND TRAINING.

**Activities:** The British Society of Orthopaedic Anaesthetists organise a series of educational meetings throughout the year. These include clinical and scientific lectures relevant to the field of orthopaedic anaesthesia. This includes lectures, practical demonstrations and competition for trainee anaesthetists to encourage research in the field of orthopaedic anaesthesia.
