**Objects:** THE CHARITY’S OBJECTIVES (‘THE OBJECTIVES’) ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY OF LEICESTER, LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND BY: • PROVIDING AND ASSISTING WITH THE PROVISION OF LEARNING ABOUT AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT BOTH ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND BY PRACTICAL AND ACADEMIC TRAINING AND EDUCATION • PROVIDING TRAINING IN TECHNIQUES OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION AND RECORDING • PROVIDING PUBLIC LECTURES AND EXHIBITIONS • ORGANISING A FESTIVAL OF ARCHAEOLOGY OF UP TO ONE MONTH DURATION • ENCOURAGING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE IN A BROAD RANGE OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES • WORKING CLOSELY WITH OTHER BODIES TO FURTHER INTEREST AND PARTICIPATION IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY

**Activities:** Providing training in techniques of archaeologcal exploration. Organising activities such as digs, fieldwalking, lectures and exhibitions and encouraging the general public to participate in these.Organising an annual Festival of Archaeology and liasing closely with other bodies to further interest and participation in archeaeological discovery.
