Achiovem•nts and Performance
¢ontinu
The Church does not measure the suc¢ess of its programmes and a¢tNitr8s only in number5. inciuding
financial numbers. but also in fellowship, indNidual growth in farth and in the lived experience of the Church
community both in supporting and in encouraging each other and in reaching out to the significant needs of
the communib.es that we live in both in Rowhedge, across Colchester and online. While the Trustees
eognise that such growth and connections wrth others are drf￿Urt to measure, we believe that the year has
been a period of growth and that the challenges of the Covid 19 pandemic have also provided opportunities lo
re8Gh out and share the love of Jasus Christ wrth others.
In the year, one person was baptised. Current rrEmbership ofthe Church is 32. one person having be¢om8 a
member in the year and having reswJned.
Like many churches. the physical attendance al our weekty Sunday church services is less than pre-pandemic
level$. but otheT areas of ministy within the building and outreach into the community has grown over the
year.
Other encouragements during the penod being reported on include the grant received from Bapb'st Insurance
Company as shown in the following secth)n.
Flnanclal RovI•w

The main expenditure in the year related to the salary of the Minister, who worked part-time for the Church,

The financial results for the year together with a summary of the a¢￿u￿tIng policie$ adopted are set out in the

Mariners Chapel 1$ heavily dependent on its rr￿mb&r5hip working as volunteers in all 8$pects of rts activities,
many of which run with little or no impact on the Chapel expenditure, but nevertheless contribute substantially
to the achievement of the church's objeth'ves.

The Trustees have established a Reserves Poly to enable Manners Chapel to fun¢bon effectively and meet
ils obligations in the event of a dedine in our income or a major cost. Having considered the relevant risks of
changes in income and expendrture, the Trustees have detemiined that the appropriate level of reseNes is in
