varied situations that occur during the patrol
hours on the streets of Winchester. For example,

need to, whilst still providing care and support
to people whilst they enjoy their evenings out

as the Riverside Park Skateboard Park and the
shops in Stanmore, Winnall and Harestock
during summer months when permitted.
Talks to local secondary schools as part of their
GCSE RS education. Patrols have hosted
observers
from
the
police,
the
council,
Winchester Business Improvement District (BID)
and even architects (as part of the planning for
the regeneration of Winchester city centre)
The trustees decided in July 2023 to commence
a School Pastors initiative, for which training and
preparation began in the autumn. Work started
in schools in early 2024. Volunteers talk and

We are very grateful to our ~65 volunteers for
the >40 hours each has committed to the initial
training in order to become a Street Pastor and
their on-going giving of ~4 hours overnight each
month to complete their designated patrol,
during which they are making themselves
available
to
deal
with
many
varied
circumstances.
Many hours are spent listening to and
encouraging the people they meet and without
their contribution of time, energy and love we
would not have been able to achieve so much.
In addition, many of the volunteers have chosen

approval| |||John Knapman|20th May2026| ||||| Winchester Street Pastors Charity No: 1185366 Independent Examination: Matters Arising Year ending 31 December 2025 Following my independent examination a number of issues have come to my attention that need to be addressed by the Trustees. - 1) Barclays account statements show the old charity no. Barclays should be advised accordingly to correct their records. - 2) On Receipts testing , better documentation should be kept, and Thank You (TY)s issued for all donations received. I recognise that some churches are paying by a regular Standing Order, but annually you could issue an annual TY stating total received. - 3) Administrative information should be kept up to date, whether it be the annual report, the website or the Charity Commission disclosure.
