-The charity is controlled by the Trustees. The presertt Charitsble In¢orpordted Organtsation ICIOI was
registered by The Charity Commission in SEPtember 2019, Ch8rity number 1185320. The assets,
liabilities and actNities of thè Chureh were transferred from the fom)er uninwrporated charty with effect
from 26 Jung 2020.

R¢furbishment work is being furKled from resèrvès, together wlh a loan facility from the Custodian
trusteg. Pt)tential risks have b¢on co)nsidered and tskèn into account in planning for thè fLrture.

Objectives & ActÉvttie
The aims of the ¢h8Nty are summed up in thè church's mission staternenl-. lo pracbse and promote thè
worship of Gr￿, to be a loving Christian community and to spread the Christian gospel in the locality and,
through our support of plhers, the widerworld. All tsur activities follow from thesè three 8ims.
A¢hievemÈnts & Performance
During thè yearthe Ghurch received regular income suffioenl to ￿￿Intain ts minty aclwlties In the
community, and to fu￿1 our responsibilities for the upkeep of our premlses. We also recelved further
donations towards improving our buildings. Further rèfurbishment work to the ￿ar part of our buildings was
ctsmpleted during the year.
We continued thè project to support our local community by providing a Friendship space, now M&ld Iw
monthly on Thursdays, with a variety of actwities such as frtness sessions, Craft work and mu8ic.
In August our Friendship Space and Bring me Sunshine hDSted a joint multi-cultural community event wth organ and
guitar music. poems and song, f￿d and fun. In October anolherjoint ev8nt ￿lebrated Black History Month. wth
music from organ. steel band. règgae and quadrille dancing. and induding 8 Caribbean cultural meal.
Also in October we again held a coffeè moming. raising £515 for Macmil]an's Cancer Support.
In March wè hosted friends from Joeal ¢hurches for a worfd day of prayer servic8.
Activities wth children have continued on Sundays and the Monday club night.
A n&w group, Faith Hub, brings togÈthÈr tèènagers and young adults in study and action.
Regular evening gatherings for study and pmyer have continued on Zoom.
Growng Path, the nursery that use5 one Df our halls, has been able to mainl8in its Wcprk throughout the year.
We contribut&d to a variety of outside causes (listed in note 7 to thè fin8n¢ial statements).
Plans for Future
In the future the church plans to ￿ntinue, under God's guldance, to seek to further its aims, espèclally the spiritual
and numerical growth of our Christian community. Wo a￿ hoping to continue to build on what wé havé begun
in our refurbished building in 2022-23, wth charity and sodal events. We ￿￿11 continue lo welcome
ancl support our Ioc81 community, and exploring new ways of fulfilling our mlssion objective.
Wè also 8Ém Clver lime to cornplete the refurbishmènt of the interior of our bulldings and its exlomal access.,

Charity law requires the Twstees to prepare in respect of each accounting period of the charity a
statement of accounts complying with such requir8merrts as lo its form and content as may be
prescribed by regulations made by the Secretary of Slate. In preparing those financial statements,
the trustees are required to=
select suitable accountlng policies and then apply them ¢onsistenlW.
- observe methods and principles in the Charity SORP.,
make judgements and eslimates that are reasonable and pnjdenl.,
prepare the firjancial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate
to presume that the charlty will continue to operate.
The Trustees are responslble for keeping proper accounting records which disclose wth reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial
statements compw with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
and the provisions of the twst deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
harity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and oth8r
irregularities.

I report to th8 trustees on my examinatlon of the accounts of Brownhill Road Baptist Church (the Charity}
for the year ended 31 December 2023, which are sgt out on pages five to nlne.
Responsibllities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
aGcordar)ce with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {"the Act.).
I reFK)rt in respect of my examination of the Charivs accounts caThied out under section 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions
given by the Charity Commission under section 14515} (b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlnerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I cctnfirm that no material matters have come to my attentlon
in connection wth the examination giving me cause to believe that in any tnaterial respect=
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charty as required by section 130
of the Act- or
' the accounts do not a￿ord with those records,. or
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements wncerning the form and content of
accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of
an independent axamination.
I have no conc&ms and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination
to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to er)able a proper understanding of the

The financial statements of the charity have been prepared in accordan¢È with the Charities
Act 2011. The accounts have beèn prepa￿d under the historical cost convention
using the Reoeipts and Paymènts basis applirable to sm811 charities.
Income and exp•nditurè recognition
Voluntary income is received in cash by way ol donations and is included when rèceived.
Rèclaimed Tax is included Dncè the Claim has been submitted lo HM Revenue & Customs.

Th& church building ancl other trust properties are vèstècf in the London Baptist Propety
Board, and form no part of the assets of thè church charity. Moveable church contents have value
onty in the context of churGh lrfe and ar@ not valued. Expendtture incurr6cI on the church
premises, the manse and their contents is written off when incurred.
Value Added Tax
The charity is not registered for VAT and all costs are inclusive of VAT.
