The objects oflhe CIO are lo establish and run a community hall and to
promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Tansley {"area
of benefrt") without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability,
nationality, race or political, religious or olher opinions the provision of
facilities for recreation or olher leisure time occupation of individuals who
have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infimiity or
disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or
for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object

Manage a Community Hall which is available to rent by the hour or a
daily rate. It is available from 7-00am until 22-30pm every day of the
year.
Tansley Partsh Council own the building and the Community Hall
Management Committee lease il for a nominal annual fee and
managelrun the Hall on a day to day basis.
The hall is for the benefit of local people and is lo provide a Spa￿ for all
groups- of any age or interest- to use it for leisure, pleasure,
entertainment, education, training and occasional commercial activity.

Charitable use by local residents and groups will take Pre￿dent over any
ommercial activity. The hall is not available to hire for regular block
bookings for commercial use. The use oflhe Hall has to be for the benefit
of the Community.
The Hall has now been in operation providing a resour￿ for the people
of Tansley for 129 years. One of the main aims is to ensure that any
village non-profit making group, particularly those who work with children,
are able to use the hall. It is also availabl8 for parties, meetings, training
events, displays, plays, jumble sales etc - the purpose is to provide a
Spa￿ for local people to use at an affordable rate
All trustees have read and agreed to public benefit guidan￿ issued by
the Charity Commission at the fomiation of the Charity in 2019. AII
decisions have been taken with the public benefit objectives of the
Charity in mind.

Minor maintenance ofthe property. such as painting and decorating, is
carried out by volunteers from the local communty, as well as the
¢ommrttee. organised by the committee.
The committee is responsible for creating plans for the development of
the property in consultation with the Parish Council.

during the year
The hall has continued to be used by th8 regular groups.
Discussions are continuing on planning the provision for access and
toilets for people with physical disabilities. An architecl has been hired to
draw up plans to exiend the toilet block to provide an acossible entrance
and toilet facilities.

During this period the committee continued to maintain at least £5,000 in
resetves to allow for significant emergency Maintenan￿ and towards
future enhancements to the building to allow ac￿SS and use for people
with physical disabilrties.
