Trustee Statement

Seaton Carew Community and Sports Club (charity) was set up in September 2019, we also set up a trading company Hornby Park Limited. It was agreed that whilst we would start using this charity we would start transferring the assets from Seaton Carew Sports and Social Club to the charity and to start using the trading company in April 2020 and change the financial year to April to March.

The process commenced in notifying suppliers of the transfer however, Covid 19 restrictions come into play from March 2020 and as a result the transfer of assets and the change over did not start until October 2020. Had we started the transfer we would not have been eligible for the government grants as we would have been seen as a new Company. This delay enabled us to support our staff with the governments furlough scheme throughout the pandemic.

The Trustees took the decision to use the funds that had been bequeathed by Jim Rodgers to Seaton Carew Sports and Social Club to refurbish the clubhouse during the lockdown. This refurbishment has proved to be a very sound decision and we have increased the footfall to the clubhouse which we believe will make us more self-sufficient in years to come.

As no transactions have taken place there are no accounts to review and a nil return will be submitted for financial year ending 30[th] September 2020. Accounts for Seaton Carew Sports and Social Club will be produced as at 30th June 2021 and asset transferred to Community.

Documented on the minute of the 21 September 2020.
