Mlnlstry:
At the end of anotheryear of mlnSstry at New Street 8aptlst Church, we have
so muchto be thankful for. We can look back and see many vrnys thatthe Lord
has wovided and worked amongst us. for our good and hls glory. We began
wlth a vlslon verse from Joshua 22.5 whlch encouraged us to love the Lord. to
walk in hls ways. to keep his commandments, to cling to him and to se￿e hlm
wlth all of our heart and with all of our soul. This Is what we have trled to do In
what has been an Increaslngly turbulent tlme for our natlon. We are1Svlng
through a perlod In whlch it 15 Increasingly Important to be unashamed about
vhpt we belleve. and yet there have also been many encouraging signs and
storles of growth in churches atross the nation. It is increasinglyclearjust how
ch our community needs the transformlng power of the Gospel of Jesus
Christ and St Is essential that we remain ever prayerful dependent upon
the Lord mlndful of Psalm 127:1-'Unless the Lord bullds th¢ house. those who
bulld tt lab￿r in Wdin..
Thls past year. the teachlng mlnlstry saw a conclusion to our series in
Matthew's Gospel. and we also explored I Peter, as well as the openlng
chapters to the book of Acts.
And in manyways. the Inspiring exampleofthespirtt-empowered early church
has been key in leading us Into a new season as a church where we are now
increasingly beginning to consldèr how WÈ can reach out to our community.
WhllsL prevlous years have rlghtEy seen a lot of foundatlonal work put In to
what kind of culture and communltywe are Invltlng people Into-and that work
ever contlnues- we are now asklng the Lord to grow wlthSn us a heart to See
our town transforn•d by the Gospel of Jesu5 Christ a5 we seek to play our
part. It has also been a hlghlight to see new opportunlties arise to forge c105er
links wlth other Christians and Churche5 in the town. and more fvrther afleld.
We hosteda toNYn-wldeprayer meetlngforthework of YFC, weasslsted other
churchesvhK> usedour bulldlng, and therewasa renewedtennlychurch ￿der
meètup which has had a positive stsrL
This yearalso saw the Iwnch of a new discipleship group for teenagers whlch
was led by Heldi and Dennls. Th15 has got off to a good stsrt and it sets the
stage for next year when so many more of theyoung people in the Church wlll
start to reach that age. We are now look]ng to grow thls mlnlstry Sn the year
ahead. and it's a hugepoint ofioythat soonfourof them wlll take the next step
In thelr faithjourney by gettir¥J baptised. Thls year has also contlnued to see
our numbers grow as new families and people have joined us for our weekly
gatherings. Thankfulty it seems that some of the pressures we had been
èxpÈriÉnclng as a rosult of growth have started to oase.. new volunteers have
stwed up in various roles.
Ithasalso beeii a ￿e blessing to havesomefamiliesjoin usfrom Hong Kong,
and it has been a joy to hear how they are feeling so at home and welcomed
into the Church. It's been wonderful to hearof their heartto helpusas we seek
to reath our community.

l amalways sothankful forthetlmeand effortso manyof ourchurchfamllywt
into the ministryof the Church. So manyof you gothe extra mile and I want to
thankyou foryour hard work. your prayers ard your sacrifices.
As we renew our commitment to ar￿ther year of all-in ministry - let me
encourage each of us once more to do our part in V￿lcOM1ng, in showing
hospltalFty and generoslty, In comnwtting to regular prayer and mutual
encouragement, and In the sharlng of our faith- as we keep our focus on the
Lord and his mlsslon. for hls glory.
During 2024 the Trust's bank balances Increased from £65.667 to £71,127.
Recelpts exceeded payments by £5,460 even though income was lower than
In 2023. In part th15 surplus is offset by Ilabllities at the end of 2024 to HMRC

God for this provlslon through the support of church members and other
members of the congregatlon.
Completed Islah 61m course, although not a huge turnout It went well and
those who attended gained a lot.
Events went well durlng 2024 and thoughts for 2025 Include. Walk, Plcnic and
Board game evenlng. We hope that 2025 contlnues as 2024 did. blesslng
others wlth hospltallty.
2024 had been averyposltlveyearwhlch sawgrovrth In allareasof chlldren and
youth work in the church. Sunday School numbers have remalned conslstently
posltlve. A pleaslng factor In the development of the Sunday School has been
the way that many of theyoungsters have grown in falth and confidence- thelr
enthuslastic involvement in areas of m5nlstry such a5 All Age Worshlp, Messy
Church andthechrlstmas natlvlty ha5 been good to see. Messy Churches have
agaln been popular. Noah's Ark numbers decllned after the summer. followlng

Lookln9forward to 2025. there Is a good program of actlvltles planned.
