OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES 

The current Chairman, Trustees and Management team were elected on the creation of the CIO with roles and responsibilities being considered based on individual experience. Management of the Centre has worked to facilitate the operational structure change from an Association to a Charity Incorporated Organsiation (CIO). 

The Trustees have taken the charity forward after advice from the advisory, CVS, with whose guidance the decision was taken to move the to produce a new updated constitution version called Charity Incorporated Organisation (ClO), This will enable the charity to maintain its operational values, which previously saw recognition through the prestigious "Voluntary Service Queens Award". 

The organisations registered name is: Longwell Green Community Centre Memorial Hall and Playing Fields Association CIO

Governance delivered by compliance with the existing constitution and Commissions guidance. Trustees are nominated and elected by an open vote by the members at the AGM, the trustees, interviewed and elected by a vote of the trustees, propose any replacement trustees. 

## **Longwell Green Memorial and Playing Field Association CIO Trustees Annual Report** CHAIR'S REPORT 

To see the ongoing trading of the Charity please review the accounts and statement for the Longwell Green memorial Hall 7 Playing Fields Association Charity Number 301564. 

On the creation of the charity registration as a CIO in September 2019 the decision was taken to change the trading arm from the current club status to a company 100% owned by the CIO in 2021 



and this will operate under a lease to manage the bars in the Centre. The company name will be Longwell Green Community Trading Limited. 

Additionally the change to a CIO has allowed the Trustees to register the land and property at Shellards Road as an asset of the Charity rather than the previous situation where it had to be held by holding trustees. This matter was managed by the solicitor acting on behalf of the charity. 

Additionally during 2020 the Centre has been working with a number of parties to secure funding for an artificial football pitch on the top grass pitch and planning has been approved. This area is within the land leased to the charity by the South Gloucestershire Council; therefore the lease to the land will be reviewed and placed in the name of the CIO, accommodating the requirements of the key parties providing funding for the new facility. This will be achieved by working with SGCC and our solicitor. This facility will be operated by a company 100% owned by the Charity, self-funded with all income re-invested into the pitch and football facilities. It is hoped this will bring more people to the Centre provided an opportunity for the community to have access to an area for wellbeing, exercise and sport as well as being a facility for the Longwell Green Sports Football Junior, Senior Clubs which includes boys, girls, man, women and disabled. 

The intention was to start trading through the CIO in 202O, however there was the need to set up new banking arrangements plus the pandemic prevented actions being taken quickly therefore we anticipate this all being in position and operating by the end of 2021. 

It is for this reason the income is Nil with all trading remaining under the charity registration, charity number 301564. 

Statement of trustees' responsibilities in relation to the financial statements The charity trustees are responsible for preparing trustees 'annual report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). 

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011-, the applicable Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations, and the provisions of the Trust deed. The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
