Chairman’s Report for AGM on 21/05/2026

For “Cycling Without Age Weymouth” 2025-26

It has been another successful year for “Cycling without Age Weymouth” and I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to CWA Portland, Bridport and Dorchester. A big thanks to our Trustees, Keith, David, Jane, Tony, Fiona and Stuart for their time and support during the last 12 months.

Sadly we lost one of our original Trustee Russell Gibson and as a gesture to Russell and his family we will name one of the Trishaws “RUSS”. We also lost a very active volunteer from Dorchester Steve Pharoah and CWA Dorchester will be organising a ride in his memory on Sunday 12[th] July 2026 which is open to everyone to participate.

My gratitude also goes to all our volunteer pilots. Without your commitment, we simply would not be where we are today. The joy and companionship you bring to our passengers is invaluable, and your ongoing support as we look forward to 2026-2027 is greatly appreciated.

Regrettably, we have had to step back from our activities in Bridport. I would like to thank Helen, David and Ross for their considerable efforts in trying to sustain the service there during the year.

As reflected in the financial report, 2025/26 was another very strong year for our charity. This is a testament to the collective effort of everyone involved, and I commend you all for your contribution to such a positive outcome.

Passengers’ numbers remain highly encouraging, and we were delighted to welcome our 10,000 passengers in December. Feeback from passenger, community groups and the local council continue to be overwhelmingly positive

We were also proud to host a highly successful Cycling Without Age England National Conference in Weymouth in September. It was an honour to welcome Ole Kassow founder of Cycling Without Age, as our guest speaker. I would like to extend a special thank you to Caroline Tapster Clarke and Care Dorset for partnering us, which greatly supported the success of the event.

In summary, we have delivered another strong year. However, we must not become complacent. Maintaining our standard is essential, and we must remain vigilant to ensure we continue proving safe, enjoyable and meaningful experience for our passengers.

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for your support throughout 2025-2026
