|||||The number<br>ofvolunteer<br>working<br>parties on the Common were curtailed||
|||||due to damp weather<br>and Covid restrictions.<br>However, three days of||
|||||contract work were undertaken<br>for reptile and amphibian<br>management||
|||||(f552),f560was paid to 2 contractors for scrub clearance and 2360was||
|||||paid to a contractor for bracken cutting. BPSdaimants<br>and Trust<br>.||
|||||members<br>have also undertaken<br>bracken<br>cutting at no cost to the Trust.||
|||||Site meetings were held to discuss on going management<br>work with||
|||||Natural<br>England<br>and future plans drawn<br>up. The requirements<br>ofthe||
|||||Higher Level Stewardship<br>have been maintained.<br>The Trust was invited||
|||||to roll over the HLS for another year and this was agreed.||
|||||During the summer dormouse<br>monitoring<br>work was undertaken<br>by||

|this section the statutory<br>declaration<br>that trustees<br>have<br>had regard tothe guidance<br>issued by the Charity<br>Commission<br>on public<br>benefit)||||Amenity<br>Use<br>In July we were able to hold the launch event planned<br>for the previous<br>year, but postponed<br>due to Covid restrictions.<br>After a picnic lunch we<br>introduced<br>those present (some 25)to some ofthe wildlife on the<br>Common<br>and the management<br>work undertaken<br>and talked about the<br>organisation<br>ofthe Trust.||
|||||We have prepared a leaflet about the Common<br>and put up posters at|all|
|||||the entrances<br>welcoming<br>walkers and indicating<br>how they can contribute||
|||||to the care of the Common. The Common has continued<br>to be widely||
|||||used by locals and those from further afield. This has not been without|its|
|||||problems<br>(litter, burnt area, quad bikes, etc.), but most users are||
|||||generally<br>respectful.||
|||||The trust received some welcome<br>publicity<br>in the local press when a||
|||||bench was donated<br>and installed to thank the Lord ofthe Manor for his||
|||||gift ofthe Common to the Trust.||
|||||We believe that in all our activities we have complied<br>with the duty<br>in||
|||||section 4 ofthe 2006 Act to have due regard to guidance<br>on public||
|||||benefit<br>ublished<br>b<br>the Charit<br>Commission.||

|Summary ofthe main<br>achievements<br>ofthe charity<br>during the year||The Common<br>continues to provide awelcome place for members<br>of the<br>public to walk and relax. The richness of habitat and diversity<br>is still being<br>maintained,<br>though as ever it is a delicate balance.<br>-||
|||The Trust feels that this has been the year when<br>it has got the||
|||organisation<br>onto a more professional<br>footing and looks forward|to|
|||capitalising<br>on this in the coming year, building<br>up its membership|and|
|||planning<br>its management<br>work programme.||
