Championing civic and community life in Peasedown St John
Annual Financial Statement – 31[st] August 2021
The Peasedown Community Trust was established to champion civic and community life in Peasedown St John.
We believe passionately in making a difference and work with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
We run several volunteer-led projects in the village:

Peasedown Community Library – in partnership with B&NES Council, we run the village’s library service. Over 20 volunteers help manage a wide range of library services.

Peasedown Community Garden – in partnership with Curo, we run a sensory, quiet garden where villagers can go to relax, unwind, and volunteer in a range of initiatives.

Dementia Friendly Peasedown – dementia affects everyone! Our team of trained Dementia Champions are raising awareness of the condition across the village and helping to create a dementia-friendly community we can all be proud of!
Over the last 12 months we have also taken the lead on other initiatives for the benefit of people living the community. These have included:

Feeding 30 families in need at Christmas time

Giving away small grants to community groups

Distributing trees to households, helping everyone to ‘do their bit’ for the environment

Organising Peasedown St John’s biggest ever Environment Survey, allowing local people to have their say on issues that matter to them.
Here is our financial statement for the 12-month period – ending 29[th] August 2021:

B&NES Council - £1,000 Fundraising/Donations - £1,945
TOTAL = £2,945
EXPENDITURE:
Library (Rent, Equipment, Insurance, Wifi, Sundries, Volunteer Expenses) - £1,209.60 Remembrance 2020 - £256
Community Garden - £134.18 Other - £147.91
TOTAL = £1,747.69
RINGFENCED POTS OF MONEY:
As of 22/08/21, the Trust has in the bank £8,355.83
The Trustees currently have ringfenced the following amounts of money for these purposes:
Library Rent/Insurance until Oct 2023 - £3,464
Library Marketing Fund - £302 Community Grant Scheme - £300 Food Distribution Initiatives - £682 Dementia Friendly Peasedown - £978 Environment Fund - £1,000 Unallocated - £1099.08 Reserves - £530.03
