To promote human rights (as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent United Nations conventions and declarations) in Sri Lanka, by all or any of the following means:

monitoring abuses of human rights;

obtaining redress for the victims of human rights abuse;

relieving need among the victims of human rights abuse;

During the period of this report, the activities have focussed on raising fund to support core activities of the Nadesan Centre and the Civil Rights Movement in Sri Lanka.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
During the period JtLP raised funds which, while small in UK terms, have made a significant difference in Sri Lanka to the operation and effectiveness of the Nadesan Centre.
For much of the period both fundraising and the operation of the two supported organisations have been severely limited by Covid 19.
