The Bungalow. 11 Edmonton Close, Kesgrav8, is 8 4bed detached bungalow aho leased lo SCC on a fvll repalring
basi& and no rent. The propety h88 recently been used to provide Ljrgpnl short Slay accommodation for people with
leaTniDg disabilities bul has been empty ￿Th¢e July. We under$l&nd that SCC is negotiating 8 new sub-kase ￿th a
ew lo the prop8rty being used to asslsl di58Ned younu peO￿t •g6d 18.25 make the adu8tmenl from $chool lo
aduN independent living.
Neither pmperty has been vahjed in the past few years 85 the thanly Is not in a POÈthon to disFx)se of ￿ther of

During the lastyearwe have lost Several friendslmembers. whith is a￿ayS very sad
Brian CoDk has been a member of Ipswch MenG3P for many years. He passed away aftera short I1￿$$ but he wll
always be remembered for tri5 chee￿neSS and wonderful views en life. Brian is now reunited wlh hk4 friend JOYCE.
We trEn tteard of tt)e passing of Huyh DurraDI. Hugh was the life and soul of any party. He attended school with my
Ihr8B and ore of the Ihlnys which make mo smile is Hugh proposed lo my dau9hler and her disgust al Ihis.
Ugh was quickty followed by stev￿ Mann. Stevè's parents were part of the Ongin￿ Ip5%vich Mencap committee
and will be sor6￿ missed.
E¥rfy in Ihe year we heard of the sudden death of a dear friend, Chrfs Hawes Chds worked for our ￿$ter group
Orwdl Kfjenr2p Genesis aT￿ was devoted lo the work he did In helping others ath￿ve th￿r besl. Chris IÈ definitely
mlssed by the tsam he worted %vith and his colleagues.
Recenuy we heard ofthe paswng of Ghum)el Sing. A ￿vely young mon with a beaming smile Ghumiet had been ill
for SLvnetime bul is really Missed by 811 his friends.
Our thoughts, prayers and love are with all thdr famil￿$ and of Cou￿9 those whom we have fa￿ed lo mention. May
they all rest in eternal peace.
Burye8s House and tht Bungalow
Leading Liv8s and Suffolk County cou￿1 have askod us to obi*n a ftrasibility study for Burgess House.
After obtaining a coup￿ of quotes we have agreed to go 8head wrth this end hopè that there 15 sume way Ihe
Ikling can be r&-jigged so it is used to its fLIJ potential, somglhing that wt would prefer lo happan.
The contracts for Burgess Hous8 until 2034 and rfth8y were going lo p￿1 out then notice would have been given
in September 2024. This was never received so we assume they are going to continue to Ihe end of the contract
period.
Part of the Pwikling has been re4ecoT*ed and there have been some repairs (kjne bul rt is ￿rtaIrtty not being used
to its lull potential.
After Some considerable objections from LÈadlng Lives and Suffolk County Counc51 we did rnanage lo hslall ¥
defibrillatorand bbed kil at Burgt$$ House.
Although quite txpensNe we all fell this to be s necessity and onty one we8k after being installed it was used by
East SuffolkAmbulance Trust 50 rfwe have saved just one life then il is worth èvery penny sp8nl.
Wilh reyards lo The Bungalow we 8re no further fornard on this. The buildiny remains empty and in a poor stale of
repair. It is two years now *nee il w85 trashed and we are Iruty disgusted a5 are the nei9hbour5.

Events and Fundrai$lng
The paretW¢arer group is continuin9 to run although not a$ wèll as we would have hoped. We all know IherÈ is a
need bLrt peopltr are just not comjng forward and despite Caz's besi efforts In organlsing eventsia¢livities the
support is not increasing. Those who do come find tt easy lo CINII and chat lor a Coup￿ of hours so we know d is
worth it and we wll plod on tegardless.
We have ju51 reached lh• end of the garage saleg for thi8 year 2024 and boy has it been 5bw. The unpredictable
weather h3s not helped the situation eiltter, rt's BO truslraling when you pul everything OLrt and then11 rains you have
to dose, bul on the olher hand if il iains people don'l tum out.
Needaam Raft Race w¥s a huge agaln thi8 year des￿le the very cold wealhw. We rec*ved awport Irom
Ihe T17reÈ Tuns and the Sawn pubs ai N8edharn MathEt. We had our usual stall but itwas and wewere ¥¥ glad
lo get home and warm afteTward.
Lark in the Path had lo ba Gancel￿d due to travelkgrs selting up on the slle. No new datÈ was sèt for Il to be
rearr4nged.
We are all loo￿￿9 foward to Ihe Chrp&irnas Fayre9 this yBar and hopgfulty we Can make a few pounds as well
gÈ1 rid of som8 oflhe $luff ac(￿mU￿ted over the year.
Dart8 League
There have been 50me changes ￿thIn thts league during the last year. Wendy Andrews LthDse to slep down ¥s
chair due to ill heallh however did agreB to ¢ontinu6. With Iho help of her daughter Karen, until someone look ovgr.
Mall Plurnb agreed to lake on the ro￿.
We eXI￿delI the league with 7 rlew teams and a ￿U￿￿e rnore ￿)wWaitIn9.
Phil Maslets (who play5 for Kesgrave Warnorsl has managed lo get the league tab￿S done on a weekty basi8 by
Siw Vlhalapp and thi5 keeps everyone happy. Fingers crossed so far so good bul Ihe proof wll be when il comes
1¢ sorting the ￿ague and flxttsres for ne￿ season. Only IhÈn will vle be able to tsll rfany mistakes have been made.
