ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2023

Lytham St Annes Lions Club was chartered on 10 May 1962 and is a member of Lions Clubs International, a worldwide service organisation. The club is registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO number 1185052) in 2019.

The officers during the year were:

The officers are elected or appointed on an annual basis from the members of the Club.

OBJECTS

The object of the Charity is to help, either financially or physically, those members or groups who, in the opinion of the trustees and members, are in need of assistance.

Financial support is also given to national and international charities in general, and Lions Clubs International charities in particular.

The Club operates on a completely voluntary basis, with no paid staff.

REVIEW OF THE YEAR

The Club was pleased to able to organise and run the Annual Swimarathon following two years of Covid restrictions and had a successful year with a gross income of £19,079. The end of year balance of unrestricted funds is £3,420.

Activities with a net income of over £500 were:

Swimarathon £13,208

Management and Administration expenses amounted to £1,578 largely in relation to organisation and running of the annual Swimarathon.

BANKERS

National Westminster Bank in St Annes on Sea are the Club’s bankers.

FUTURE

It is anticipated that the Club will continue to work to its’ Objects and to serve both the local and wider communities.
