Appointed for periods of 5 years by the existing trustees. The end of the first period of appointment was staggered in the Constitution so all appointments don’t fall due in the same year and on 13 Sept 2021 (minute 4) it was resolved to date the start of the periods from the date that Ravenswell was entered on the Register of Charities (27/8/19).

The charity’s policies and procedures are under preparation (this process was delayed by the Illness of one of the trustees and the difficulties of the pandemic but is continuing during 2021/2022). The policies and procedures are drafted, taking account of the relevant legislation and Charity Commission guidance, before being individually adopted at trustee meetings.
The charity still has a very small structure. One of the trustees is responsible for most of the animal care, advice and education, another undertakes animal care and the third undertakes much of the administration. A volunteer maintains the accounts. Because of the pandemic has not been possible to recruit and train more carers and volunteers. Education has been by responding to telephone and social media requests.
The charity still relies mainly on cash donations from locally based public and fundraising at public events. Both of these have been curtailed by the pandemic although some supporters have compensated by giving regular larger donations. We are investigating alternatives methods of fundraising.
The charity trustees have given consideration to the major risks to which the charity is exposed and satisfied themselves that systems or procedures are being established, and will be reviewed in future years, to manage these risks.

The objects of Ravenswell are:

For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of wildlife in the need of care and attention and, in particular to provide and maintain a dedicated rescue home for their reception, care and treatment and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general.

This year the activities have been care and treatment of animals in need and advising the public on how to respond to an animal that they believe is in need of care and treatment.

The trustees have given regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission and kept this in mind when decision making and planning activities.
The guidance is also being taken into account, and referred to if appropriate, when the charity’s policies and procedures are drawn up.

## Section D Achievements and performance
**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
The charity has taken in, and treated 50 animals during the period. Some of these were treated and released by trustees, some were taken to specialist carers who treated and arranged release. 5 were treated by vets and 8 were not in a condition that they could be treated and released.
Requests for advice or assistance has mainly been received by phone and approximately 100 people have been advised what they should do, including advising them to contact a specialist care organisation.
It has not been possible to attend events and make cash collections as in the past but there have been two online auctions held online on behalf of Ravenswell,

The trustees are extending the list of carers who are suitable to care for injured wildlife and are preparing training materials for these carers and other volunteers. The website is being revised as it was originally set up before Ravenswell was registered.

The illness of individual trustees and constraints caused by the pandemic continued to cause delays in compliling these accounts. Opportunities to make cash collections have greatly reduced because of the pandemic but supporters have continued to help by making larger individual donations.
