The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of
Rotherham Lions Club Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the Charity) for the 12-
month period ending 30 April 2025. The Trustees confirm that the Annual Report and
financial statements of the Charity comply with the current statutory requirements,
the requirements of the Charity's governing document and the provisions of the
Statement of Recommended practi￿ (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by
Charities" issued in March 2015.
Structure Governance and Mana
ement
Rotherham Lions Club Charity registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
in 2019. The Club Charter was transferred to the new CIO
The Constitution stipulates that the minimum number of trUSt￿S shall be three and
the maximum bNelve. The President, Secretary and Treasurer are all mandatory
trustees. Any member taking up those posts must be trustee. The prO￿$S for the
appointment of trustees is stipulated in the Constitution. A 'Trustees' meeting is held
when required, and in any case every months. This meeting manages the
govemance of the club as set out under the Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Constitution.
The Charity's Insuran￿ requirements are covered under Lions Clubs Intemational
Multiple District 105 insurance arrangements.

Mission Statement
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs,
encourage pea￿ and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Objects
The Objects of the CIO are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England &
Wales. including in particular=

the advancement of citizenship by..
promoting the principles of good citizenship.,
encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social
and moral welfare of the community.,
providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest-,
provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by
members.,
encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal
reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce,
industry, professions, public works and private endeavours.,
supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable
them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.,
promoting the Voluntary Sector for the public benefit by associating with local
authorities in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in
the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to
improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international
communities.,
promoting volunteering.,
the relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in particular by providing
humanitarian aid and disaster relief.,
the advancement of health or the saving of lives by preventing avoidable
blindness, assisting disabled people to lead independent lives or helping to
prevent or rnanage health issues.,
promoting for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and
improvement of the physical and natural environment., andlor
promoting community participation in healthy recreation.
The trustees confirm they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities
Act 2006 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidan￿ on public
benefit 'Charities and Public Benefit,. This year the CIO have continued to provide
public benefit, and we will explain how this has been achieved in this report.
All the administration expenses of the CIO are dealt with through the 'Administration
Account, the balance of which does not include any money raised from members of
the public. The trustees can confirm that the CIO does not have any outstanding
liabilities or debts.
The CIO has a grant making policy, all applications are considered by the trustees at
their meetings. The trustees then make recommendations which are considered by
all the members of the CIO. The pro￿dure for this prO￿$S is outlined within the
constitution.

Donations
In this 12-month pertod the club has had income of £3000.00
The CIO have supported local causes to the sum of £6007.35
During the year the CIO also helped local welfare cases in a variety of ways , keep 3
defib machines updated with new pads, give money to local food banks, local Toy
Appeal for Christmas presents, Donation to a local Community Group to purchase
Xmas Presents, selection boxes to children's ward Rotherham Hospital .
Supported Rotherham hospital with Wreath making projects & Christmas Raffle,
wool donation for local knitting group, donation for disabled games & Welfare cases
within the local community
The CIO continue to try and recruf( new members
Membershi
Membership of the CIO at the end of Aprtl 2025 was 11 active members. Members
meet once per month and take part in the social and fundraising activities of the CIO.
