Mercy Charity is a registered non-profit Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) based in South West Greater London. Surrey County, United Kingdom.
Our vision is to reach out to the Children and Elderly in need irrespective of their race, colour, ethnicity, gender, disability, faith/ beliefs or their circumstances within Great Britain and to raise awareness on how to reach the needy in Developing Nations.

TIMELINE OF ACTIVITIES
FEBRUARY 2020 - The Civil Society Media in South West Greater London accepted Mercy Charity’s application amongst others for nomination via their website for their 2020 Charity Awards.
The second case was of an old lady battling with stroke whose son, has been unable to support her having lost his job due to the lockdown. Applications for these two cases have not been successful since Mercy Charity mainly operates within Great Britain. The applicants have been advised.
MARCH 2020 - Lockdown began and we have reached out to our beneficiaries/donees, donors and sponsors to assure them of our availability to give our support however we can.
Following the UK government’s issued guidance to help curtail the coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak, we have continued to monitor the guidance provided by the UK government; driven by our duty of care to our trustees, volunteers, donors, beneficiaries and the wider community.
- Fundraising Sponsorship Walk Event 2020 scheduled for April 2020 to commemorate Mercy Charity's 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY was postponed for a later date due to the Pandemic and Lockdown.
The Walk Event was organised to help raise money to provide grant for the children and elderly in need within Great Britain and to also raise awareness on how to reach the needy in Developing Nations.
APRIL 2020 - Civil Society Charity Awards 2020 has been cancelled for a later date in 2021 due to the immense pressure Civil Society were under during the pandemic
- Health & Safety measures with regards to COVID-19 were put in place. Updating Mercy Charity’s website to reflect these measures.
MAY 2020 - Mercy Charity’s 1st Virtual Meeting with its Board of Trustees via Zoom. Meeting in person has not been feasible and future Vitual Meetings will be held.
JUNE 2020 - Mercy Charity’s 2nd Zoom Virtual Meeting. We deliberated on the need to stay committed to supporting individual applicants in line with our Constitution rather than Charity organisations who have also been applying for support/ grant from Mercy Charity.

Plans with regards to our Fundraising/Sponsorship Walk Event 2020 was discussed. Our voluntary dignitaries have pledged to be volunteers.

Gartner, an iconic financial company uses ‘Benevity Causes’ Nomination Support to power their workplace giving. They have nominated Mercy Charity for a Charity Match programme where our fundraiser’s donations will be matched by Benevity.

Two cases received from Africa. Request for funding for a talented teenager contemplating suicide because the parent could not afford to pay school fees.
The Charity Commission has advised that Mercy Charity’s 1st financial year runs from 22/08/20019 to 01/12/2020. Mercy Charity will have 10 months from the financial year end to submit its Annual Return and Accounts which is 01/10/2021.
JULY 2020 - Mercy Charity registered with Companies House.
SEPTEMBER 2020 - Mercy Charity enrolled with Amazon Smile to enable us receive donations from Amazon shoppers.
- Mercy Charity registered to attend the Charity Commission (CC) Annual Public Meeting for England & Wales. Raised in the meeting was the need to identify inactive charities and revitalise their funds into the society. CC’s appreciations to active charities and pledges to support charities, small charities with diverse needs. Diversity is key.
OCTOBER 2020 - Day of Sponsorship/ Fundraising Walk Event 2020 to commemorate Mercy Charity’s 1-YEAR Anniversary. Our Starting PointWallington Green Field, SM6 and our Finishing Point-Figges March Field, Streatham Road, Mitcham, CR4. Customised/ Signature Goody Bags with face masks, tissues, sanitisers, warm socks, breakfast bars, soup sachets, caps etc were given out to the needy and to our fundraisers and donors who have helped us raise a total of £737.
DECEMBER 2020 - Mercy Charity purchased VonShef Catering Urn Electric 8 Litre Hot Water Dispenser for Instant Tea/Coffee etc. Out-reach project to reach out to the needy at Stations, Bus stops etc during the lockdown period.
JANUARY 2021 - Mercy Charity has successfully opened its Barclays Business Account. Barclays Bank are delighted that Mercy Charity has chosen to bring its Organisation Account to Barclays. Bank Account No: 10897590; Sort Code:20-57-76.
APRIL - 2021 - Application for donation received to support a vulnerable mother/ single parent whose teenage twins have Sickle Cell Syndrome (SCS) and are in and out of the Hospital. Family was in need of two waterproof mattresses. Application for grant was successful and approved.
OCTOBER 2021 - Charity Fraud Awareness Week’s 6TH Anniversary. The Awareness Week encourages charities to keep their organisation safe from financial harm in the post-COVID era and fighting grant or fundraising fraud.
Mercy Charity have signed the pledge #PreventCharityFraud and #StopCharityFraud to work actively to prevent fraud wherever it might occur. Mercy Charity will be listed with other charities who have taken the pledge.
NOVEMBER 2021 - The sale of e-Raffles via Text Message/ Text Raffles took off to raise money and engage our supporters with the offer of generous prizes complimentary prizes to commemorate Mercy Charity's 2ND YEAR ANNIVERSARY.
End of Year 2020/ 2021 Commendations during and after the lockdown 2019/2020.
