2021-2022 Trustees Report - A Year Of Growth
The charity enjoyed increased growth over the last period in almost all areas of activity. Together with our iron-clad commitment to our goals, there were many factors which combined together to make this possible. These include attaining a new trustee, working with an organisational-growth consultancy, synergy with other organisations and working with a charity-CEO Performance Coach.
As such, we are proud to present this report which shares an overview of some of our successes.
We started the year off by attaining Associate Membership to the Federation of Synagogues which gives further recognition of our organisation and accreditation to our services within the wider community.
With the help of BRC Consultancy we launched our first official fundraising campaign and a dedicated fundraising-website. This helped solidify and increase our income through donations by 30%.
Once again our High Holiday Services were sold out as our synagogue continued to expand both within terms of numbers of attendees as well as frequency of prayer-meetings with a new series of monthly services.
Throughout the year, the charity held more than 30 events and hosted over hundred and twenty guests for festival meals, engaging 130 families and 500 people. Our Life-Cycle Services officiated at three weddings and five funerals. Our Counselling Services helped several young couples stabilise their relationships.
Our weekly Educational Services engaged with members for an average of 22 hours of weekly learning and also produced over 50 podcasts, which were distributed on podcast-platforms and social media. Moreover, we were invited to speak at a school and offices, and shared articles in an international publication.
Growth doesn’t come easy and there were also many challenges, including disappointments regarding hiring new staff and failing to get funding through three trusts. The charity is working hard to find solutions to these points.
