Para 1.20
In these challenging times, we are seeking ways to respond
to changes and become more sustainable. The increasingly

hostile environment directed towards asylum seekers has
affected everyone involved.
As a growing charity we need to be confident that we

strive to meet changing student needs by eliciting
feedback, promoting participation, building confidence,
developing skills & encouraging self-reliance.

do the best for students despite operational restraints.

have the necessary policies to ensure both staff and
students are kept safe
Positive developments / outcomes included

Sunderland University PCET student ( MO). All round gains
included- professional development, online & ICT skills, time
release

and volunteering / peer support projects. This is partly
funded by Lottery grant.

rewarding experience.

often expressing their gratitude. Truly overwhelming to
witness and experience such dignity and respect.
5. November was eagerly awaited – a new chapter for us -
new F2F lessons in new premises ( Divercity Hub NE4)
6. It has been a steep learning curve, maintaining online
sessions and progress, working from clean slate, increasing
teaching time, developing more effective use of time,
responding to fluctuating student cohorts and regular
attendees, avoiding kneejerk responses to pressing needs,
achieving our targets and securing more long term funding
7. Exploring social media themes.( FE student placements)
