HEREFORD ROUND TABLE REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN FOR THE PERIOD 1 APRIL 2024 TO 31 MARCH 2025
About Hereford Round Table
Hereford Round Table is a modern movement with the members at its heart, the Round Table Movement today remains true to its founder’s vision, is proud of its successes, and more than ready to welcome the next generation. Founded to give young men a place to meet, make friends, and exchange ideas, the Round Table is non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian, and has as much to offer men today as it did when it started in 1927.
As important as what the Round Table is, is what it isn’t. If you think the Round Table is a closed, secret society that belongs to the past, you couldn’t be further from the truth.
Much more than just a club or an association, the Round Table is a vibrant movement whose 8,000 members meet regularly in 600 clubs around the UK to see friends, have fun, and get involved in their local communities.
The energy that members bring to Table forms friendships, shapes lives and makes a lasting difference to many people beyond the movement itself.
Aims and Objectives
-
To develop the acquaintance of young men through the medium of their professional and business occupations.
-
To emphasise the fact that one’s calling offers and excellent medium of service to the community.
-
To cultivate the highest ideal in business, professional and civic traditions.
-
To recognise the worthiness of all legitimate occupations and to dignify each his own by precept and example.
-
To further the establishment of peace and goodwill in international relationships.
-
To further these objects by meetings, lectures, discussions and other activities.
Round Table Grace
“May we O Lord adopt thy creed, adapt our ways to serve thy need, and we who on thy bounty feed improve in thought, in word and deed”

HEREFORD ROUND TABLE REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN FOR THE PERIOD 1 APRIL 2024 TO 31 MARCH 2025
Chairmans Report
As Chairman of Hereford Round Table for the latter part of the 2024-25 year, I am pleased to submit this annual report summarising our activities, achievements, and financial impact during the period.
This year has been marked by both successful fundraising and significant contributions to the community.
Fundraising Activities:
Our main fundraising events this year were "Walk the Wye", where we took on the challenge of walking from the source of the River Wye back to Hereford. This gruelling challenge was completed by members past and present, demonstrating our collective commitment to the cause.
Our second event was the return of the Round Table Ball. Our Christmas Ball was warmly welcomed and sold out quickly, with local companies generously supporting through donations and an auction. We raised important funds that went directly to supporting local causes.
Looking Ahead:
While Rock the Barn has been a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts, we have made the decision to discontinue the event. Instead, we are partnering with Hereford Rugby Club to present "Rock the Wye", a family friendly music event designed to raise funds for the rugby club and other causes.
Governance and Financial Oversight:
We have continued to uphold robust governance practices, ensuring that all funds are managed and distributed transparently and effectively. Our financial processes remain strong, and a detailed financial report has been prepared for submission.
Closing Thoughts:
As we reflect on the successes and challenges of 2024-25, I am proud of what we have achieved as an organisation. The strength of our membership, the generosity of our community, and the impact of our charitable efforts are testaments to the values of Hereford Round Table. I am confident that 2025-26 will bring further opportunities to make a difference, and I look forward to leading the group through another year of service and fellowship.
Thank you to all members, supporters, and partners for your contributions to a successful year. Together, we continue to make a lasting impact in Herefordshire
